"PJ" Tactical, Defensive Knife

"PJ" Pararescue style tactical knife, obverse side view in 440C high chromium stainless steel blade, 304 stainless steel bolsters, canvas micarta phenolic handle, locking kydex, aluminum, stainless steel sheath
"PJ" Tactical Knife
  • Size: Length overall: 12.5" (31.8 cm), Blade Length: 7.6" (19.3 cm), Thickness: .185" (4.7 mm)
  • Weight: Knife: 12.6 oz. (357 grams) Sheath: 10.0 oz. (284 grams)
  • Blade: 440C High Chromium Martensitic Stainless Tool Steel, Hardened and Tempered to Rockwell C58
  • Bolsters, Fittings: 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel
  • Handle: Canvas Reinforced Micarta Phenolic
  • Sheath: Locking Kydex, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Nickel Plated Steel
  • Knife: A great custom knife made to order, the full-sized PJ knife pattern was originally designed by a US Air Force Pararescueman for his use in combat search and rescue and tactical operations and yet is nicely suited to defensive carry. The blade is long and thinly hollow ground, yet retains significant spine thickness along its length for strength. The single bevel cutting edge is razor sharp, and the knife blade spine and fully tapered tang is completely fileworked to add handmade beauty and increase tactile grip. The blade is highly corrosion-resistant 440C high chromium martensitic stainless tool steel, my most requested steel for combat, defensive, and tactical operations. The bolsters are zero-care 304 stainless steel, tough and durable, and dovetailed to bed a pair of canvas reinforced micarta phenolic handle scales, secured with six stainless steel pins. A very tough knife with some serious blade length.
  • Sheath: The sheath for this knife is one of my positively locking military tactical combat models, made of double thickness kydex, 5052H32 corrosion resistant high strength aluminum, 304, 302, and 316 stainless steel locking mechanism and components, bound with nickel plated steel Chicago screws and 18-8 stainless machine screws. The belt loops are reversible for a variety of wear positions.
  • A great knife for a respected international client.

Thanks, K. A.!
