  • Blade: 440C High Chromium Martensitic Stainless Tool Steel, Hardened and Tempered to Rockwell C59, Mirror Polished
  • Bolsters, Fittings: 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel
  • Handle: Polished Scapolite in Sodalite Gemstone
  • Sheath: Waterproof, Locking Kydex, Aluminum, Stainless Steel
  • Knife: This is a great knife I made in the early part of this century, and I had a chance to revisit it recently, so I took some photos. The style is my full sized Pararescue PJ, designed for combat CSAR use, and made in collector's grade form. The steel is hollow ground and mirror finished 440C, the bolsters 304 stainless steel, and the handle is Scapolite in Sodalite gemstone. This gemstone is beautiful as is, but Scapolite (aluminum calcium silicate) has a unique feature. It glows in yellow areas under an ultraviolet florescent lamp (black light). This property is called florescence. I tried to catch it in a photo (see below), but photographing under a black light is just about impossible. The areas that glow lightly in the picture actually appear bright yellow.
  • Sheath: The sheath is one of my combat grade, waterproof, locking kydex, aluminum, and stainless steel models.
  • A beautiful, unique, and great investment knife.

Thanks, B. M.!
