"Vindicator" with Lapis Lazuli Gemstone handle |
"Talitha" is the biblical word for "little girl" and is one of the three small stars that make up the feet of the constellation Ursa Major, the Great Bear in the northern sky. This Talitha is a small knife with very graceful and fine lines, begging to be picked up and used. Whether in the hands of a chef or working in utility tasks, and with a fine trailing point, the very thin knife is well suited to cut. The blade is hollow ground and mirror polished 440C high chromium stainless steel, extremely corrosion resistant, and an established standard of one of the top wear resistant stainless tool steels. The blade has a touch of filework on the spine to aid in purchase and add a bit of handmade flair, and the tang is fully tapered for weight balance. This small knife is one of the few that can work without bolsters, and has handle scales of sculpted pressure-stabilized redwood burl hardwood for high durability and water proof character. The handles have red and black vulcanized fiber spacers against the tang for a bit of color, and the small handle is secured with three stainless steel pins and waterproof bedding. The sheath for this small knife is hand-stamped basket weave leather shoulder, dyed medium brown, hand-stitched, lacquered and sealed. A great small knife for many tasks, at home in the kitchen as well as at work.
Thanks, W. B.!
