"Vindicator" with Lapis Lazuli Gemstone handle |
A striking Kerambit, Triton has a double edge. The steel is O-1 high carbon tungsten-vanadium tool steel blade, bead blasted and hot blued for a penetrating corrosion inhibiting surface. The blade has full filework, and has a fully tapered tang with a 1" rear finger hole and skull crusher persuader point at the butt. The blade has full 3" hollow grinds on both the convex and the concave sides of the blade, with a row of extremely sharp interrupted serration-edges I call "Barracuda." The deep choils on the blade terminate in substantial quillons to prevent the hand from sliding forward, and the handle accommodates either tactical or traditional grip style. The bolsters are carbon steel, and dovetailed to support a pair of beautiful heat treated Red Tiger eye Quartz gemstone handle scales, chatoyant with the "cat's eye" effect. The knife sheath is difficult to make in this type of knife, and this one is inlaid with Cape Buffalo skin in 9-10 oz. leather shoulder, made to protect the entire blade yet display the beautiful handle. The sheath is stitched with polyester sinew, dyed to match the handle, lacquered and sealed.
